Alphabet Moon is an unedited video of the moon and its reflection taken while performing rapid gestures with my wrists. I’m interested in the large impact of small movements as well as leader/follower roles. Here, the moon appears micro and organic while I remain large and relatively stable. My usual sense of magnitude and control are inverted. The moon struggles with its relfection to take a lead. I like thinking about image and object as indescernible and bound. To me this is a partner piece to legs.
Another doubling occurs when photographing the video as it plays on an iphone. The moon and its reflection layer themselves again creating new shapes.
