Walk in the Woods is an extension of Mona.
One composition was taken down off the wall and walked on in a circular rhythmic pattern, mimicking the way I walked while taking a video of the sky. I then cut out the walking pattern and replaced it with blank paper, which became a screen to project the video footage. I’m interested in collapsing visual perspectives and the time between events. I trace movement as a method to play with positive and negative space. The footprints in this piece become the cutting tool. The body as a surface which cuts is picked up again in The Dream of Saint Jerome Action Diagram.
Drawing, graphite on drawing paper. 24 x 33 inches.
